Seat removal & heated seat concerns.
« on: May 24, 2014, 11:33:39 am »
Morning gents.
I want to remove my Ed 30 front seats and am concerned about airbags & dash warnings. I presume I should disconnect the battery before any work but what codes could unplugging the seats throw up?
Additionally, my heated seats seem to have a faulty occupancy sensor. I thought they were linked to the seat belt warning system and would only operate if a person (or weight) was in the seat. If my seat heating rheostat is turned on the seat gets hot whether there's someone in the seat or not. Faulty or normal?!
Thanks.

As long as you don't turn on ignition while seats are unplugged, you'll be ok. Otherwise you'll get airbag warning light.
I thought the heated seats were linked to occupancy sensor but not 100%. I'll try mine and report back.
