Might seem like a really silly question but I figured someone on here would answer pretty easily. My car came with an aftermarket head unit which I don't like, and the buttons on the steering wheel don't work with it. I'm thinking if getting a RNS 510, but will these buttons just work straight away?

Depends if the coding and wiring has been messed about with. I dropped an RNS in mine and it worked with the mfsw straight away but not guaranteed.

Ok fair enough, but if I fitted one and they didn't work, could the coding be put right so it does work?

Yeah no reason why not assuming all the original wiring from the factory is still in place. Just need access to VCDS.
