Heated seats
« on: October 20, 2009, 09:52:55 pm »
Hi I fitted heated leather seats to my 1.6 fsi se golf a while a go. I bought this:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350213500745&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:DE:1123
Same as my heater controls except they have the heated seat controller on the sides.
I need to get one of these:
http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p680_Kabelsatz-Sitzheizung-Golf-5-V.html
I am unsure of which selections I need. I contacted them but they were not much help. I need to now if mine is heating, climatic. I also need the lower back electrical adjustment.
Does anyone know what to select?
Cheers :happy2:

Purchased the harness and t arrived today. The only problem is this is what they have gave me for instructions. Could one of you clever people covert this to something I understand! :stupid: :signLOL:
Here they are:
Manual wiring heated seats Golf V until October 2006
Please disconnect the battery before starting installation.
Please wire the loom starting from the seats to the following connections:
Wire configuration:
Steady plus - Fuse box
Ignition plus - Fuse box
Double crimp - Control unit central electric Connector C – PIN 1
Wire with 2 looms - Climate control unit – 20-pole Connector
Driver site - PIN 10
Passenger site - PIN 11
Single loom - Climate control unit – 20-pole Connector – Pin 12
Opposite to ignition plus, Fuse box SC7
Ring terminal - Ground A-Column, driver site
After installation you need to code the control unit for central electric (address 09) to heated seats.

Where does it all go!!!?

Steady plus - Fuse box Constant feed
Ignition plus - Fuse box Ignition feed
Double crimp - Control unit central electric Connector C – PIN 1 This is the main control board under the dash fuse box
Wire with 2 looms - Climate control unit – 20-pole Connector This is behind the climatic control panel under the headunit
Driver site - PIN 10 Same as abov
Passenger site - PIN 11 Same as above
Single loom - Climate control unit – 20-pole Connector – Pin 12 Same as above
Opposite to ignition plus, Fuse box SC7 Wire goes to the Fuse box socket 7
Ring terminal - Ground A-Column, driver site Bottom of A pillar ground position
After installation you need to code the control unit for central electric (address 09) to heated seats. Code Cent Elec for heated seats

Sounds easy but prob take an hour or so.

Kufatec should have supplied you with a wiring colour diagram??? if not you may have to go onto there website and download it,  on your emails you will have a customer number and id number these will be your account details on kufatec so you can download your specific instructions.

Bringing this back up to help out people in the future...

Just accomplished the heated seats today in my rabbit... THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS is that where they tell you to put the "Driver site - Pin 10, Passenger site - Pin 11, and Single loom - Pin 12".....      Follow the original instructions ONLY IF you have Climatronic Climate Control. a.k.a. the "Digital" one. I installed this wiring harness to a "Climatic Climate Control", and after countless amounts of times of trial and error i finally figured it out. This is how it goes...

IF you have one of the following, go by these directions:

Climatronic:   Single loom - Climate control unit 20-pole connector Pin 12
                     Driver Site - Pin 10
                     Passenger Site - Pin 11

Climatic:        Single loom - Climate control unit 20-pole connector Pin 15
                     Driver Site - Pin 13
                     Passenger Site - Pin 12

If done correctly, follow the "Driver site" wire from the control unit you have just plugged it into, all the way down to the connector where the harness meets the seat. Hook a voltmeter to this wire at the connector. The higher you move the heated seat knob, the higher this voltage will get, only hitting about 8 volts at maximum....

My 2ps worth.

When i did mine i used the wiring guide from Kufatec, I marked up all the wires with tape before i started the install.

When id finished it all worked fine apart from the switches were round the wrong way, ie the drivers switch controlled the passenger side and visa versa.

Obviously the Kufatec guide i had was for a left hooker so bare that in mind and double check it before inserting those pins!

That reminds me does anyone know where i can get a pin removal tool from? I need to swap mine around!

you shouldnt need any special tools to switch the pins around. Just pull the 20-pin connector off the control unit, and the pins are held in place by a single clip. I used a small flat blade screw driver, and they pop right out!  :happy2:

I really want heated seats!

If I was to buy a Leather or ED30 interior which has heated seats, I take it I can just buy the Kufatec harness and the new climate panel with the heated seat buttons on?

Anyone near Essex who could help?

Cheers mate I appreciate that! Will take you up on that offer if you don't mind! Just gotta get the seats first ;) Hopefully soon!

I was going to order the Kufatec harness but im not sure which one to get?

Assuming everyone selects the extra 19 EUR option of 'adjustment' ? But there is
'Adjustment'
'Lordose'
'Adjustment/Lordose'
'Adjustment/Lordose/Memory' Which one is it lol!

Also, the bit it says select the year of construction.

Mine is a 2005, so assume I select 2005, however, what if the seats are from, say a 2008? Does that make any difference? Or if the climate panel (with the heated seat switches on) are from a later model?

its upto you what you get but basically if you go for the extra wonger all you get is an extra 2 wires on the harness for the electric lumber adjustment, has for the year just go with the year of your car.

No problem Shaun!

Check this link out, i used it when i did mine   http://furmanka.blogspot.com/2009/01/mk5-podgrzewane-siedzienia-heated-seats.html

After 2007 the plugs on the seat are different according to this guide??

I had heated seats with electric lumbar so went with heated + lordoose(sp)

Hello mate :)

If I manage to get the ED30 seats, then they have Electric lumbar so I will go with heated and lordose, although did you go for adjustment/Lordose ? or just Lordose? (or just adjustment) lol why do they have to make it so complicated! :p

Hmmm, I might hold off ordering the wiring harness until I get the seats, and know for sure what year the seats are from...
