The mrs's brother has a friend who had a shocking experience with them and I have heard a couple of lads local to me say a few bad things about them

Stage 1 map. Best bang for buck. (240bhp)

Loads of tuners to chose from. Do a search on here for options.

If you need more power after stage 1, stage 2 requires a sports cat. (260bhp)

If stage 2 bores you, stage 2+ can be had with a HPFP and an intake. (280bhp)

Dont forget brakes, suspension and related handling mods

Is aftermarket intercooler required for stage 2+?

It will be running hot if you dont.... Even at stage 2 even though a cooler isnt require, the car would still benefit from one.

Ive just got my gti so I'm in the same boat.

My last car I done all the power gains etc first, this time am making sure the brakes are better but not spending a fortune this time so getting braided brake lines and some good brake fluid and some good brakes would be my choice.

Then maybe some suspension coilovers or eibach springs.

It's not required but its advised due to your car will be running hot, Forge/Airtec twintercooler or a THS fmic.
