Ed30
« on: June 16, 2014, 07:14:12 pm »
Took a couple pics during the varying weather down in Cornwall last weekend which I thought I would put up.
Only taken with an iPhone so not great quality! :ashamed:

Its a Manual 2008/57 Edition 30 with 47k, MFSW, highline DIS, Parrot handsfree, Ipod dock in armrest and standard mods wise apart from what looks like a GFB diverter valve.
Plans are cruise control, panel filter and stage 1 map, and some sort of brake upgrade (R32/S3 maybe) but will wait until my current year of insurance is up and then look to swap and insure with mods in mind.
The front splitter is badly stonechipped and scraped underneath so would like to get that sorted at somepoint but only noticeable up close.
I will get the wheels sorted at somepoint too, as all are slightly kerbed but I actually quite like a slightly lighter shade of silver so not too bothered about the exact match as long as it's not too chrome looking!

Cheers, Mike

To be fair it was always going to be a red one! I did have a look at a black one that was at a Honda garage not far from me but the stone chips stuck out like a sore thumb and there was a puddle of water in the passenger footwell!
If they'd have done a blue Ed30 I would have been in two minds but red will always have the edge, it was more about having to wait for ages until the right one came up!

Thanks, overall I'm happy with it
Only negatives are the brakes, even at standard bhp they are really quite poor!
Mpg ok off boost but that's not easy to keep up!
The turbo lag is worse than I expected for a standard turbo but that helps keep it off boost for general driving and am hoping it might be a bit more responsive with a remap.
But............the positives far outweigh the negatives!  :driver:

Lovely, I like a red edition! ;)
I don't find my brakes too bad at stage 1. I have genuine discs & pads though. My old gti had motaquip cardboard specials on and that was hideous. Get it mapped, you'll never look back!! :D

V-power unleaded and removing the pre-cat will make the throttle more responsive and remove some lag matey.

Interesting, not sure I would want to do that myself but maybe take it somewhere to be done...... Only ever put V-power in anyway but thanks for the tip on the pre-cat

Thanks to a post I read from MC71 I've managed to order my plaque, was pleased to find out nobody had ordered one in it's previous life!  :jumpmove:
So I'm now #1493 and the plaque is on it's way!  :drinking:
