« on: October 25, 2009, 01:17:09 pm »
Just checked the tyre pressure on the Vredestein web site & they have for the 18'' monza front 44 psi or 3 bar & for the rear 49psi or 3.4 bar &  for the edition 30 alloys (which i have on my standard GTI) they have front 46psi or 3.2 bar & rear 51psi or 3.5 bar!!!!!.Do you run these preasures ? as they seem a bit high to me ?.Suppose they know best ?.

I run mine at 2.5 bar. The ride feels firmer than the previous f1's. I wouldn't want to run them at a higher pressure

I run mine at 31 front and 33 rear. This has given me the best compromise between handling and comfort.

He told me its the same front and Back, its so that the tyre with its tread design will wear evenly.........or so he says.

Await to hear what you get from the horses mouth

I'd be interested to know...for the time being I've inflated all four wheels to 36 psi.

How do people find these on the golf.  They were awesome on the RS4.

What tyres are we comparing these to, and can you explain how they "feel" great?

I'm not trying to be pedantic...just need the statement qualified as I'll be looking for a set soon.

Ive had a pair for near on 2 weeks, and they have been superb, wet or dry, hold the road really well, tonnes of grip even when used on mine with a remap on the ed30,  with my latest more aggresive adjusted map from superchips, get very little wheel hop/spin when being a tad over enthusiastic on the go peddle.

I can only comment on comparing these to Bridgestones , Dunlops, and Hankooks, these are Way better then those.

For £85 you are certainly NOT wasting your hard earned imo.

Exactly how I found them on the Audi, and I didn't buy them for cost, lots of RS drivers use them, they have also had rave reviews in most mags.

Looks like it's between these and the F1s when my Tyres wear out.

F1's will wear faster, thats its only fault, but they are a softer compound, and as all softer compounds, will grip better but at a third less the cost, and for day to day usage, rather then a track tyre. That for me was a contributy factor into my decision to change to this Brand.

my vreds are at my handbook reccommended pressures for 18" at 2 bar front, 2.2 bar rear thats 29psi 31 psi iirc.

the vreds IMO opiniomn are fantastic. I have done alot of laps of the ring on mine and ti have had on her.hey were a million miles better than the toyo T1Rs and michelin exaltos that now considering they are cheaper than the other two and yet performing against the likes of pilot sports and F1 assymetrics, you cant go wrong.

when i first put them on the fronts of my car before i dorve to  the ring they were like ice skates for the first 50 or so miles. but by the time i made it the 92 mile to the ring they were scrubbed in and great around the track, and were outgripping the rear toyos easily in the bends as it was a little tail happy at times.

wear rate seems ok as well

Would you suppose this is the same for both 18", and 17" alloys?
