Can gateway removal
« on: June 26, 2014, 07:38:05 pm »
Hello

My mate has a 06 gt tdi and we have fitted the RNS 510? And he has the battery drain issue so I have told my mate he needs a new can bus/ gateway controller.........

Has anyone got the coding instructions? Is it a hard job to do? I have vag com and no stranger to finding my way round it.

Cheers Dan

Yeah... go into the CAN section, and then Installation list. Make a note of all the selected options. Screen shot is preferable.

Fit the new can, then go back into VCDS CAN section Installation list and recheck all the correct items!

I have got an old CAN and RNS510B but instead of getting a new CAN I just installed this version of the Firmware:

http://www.rnsfirmware.com/firmware-4020-for-older-units-in-europe-with-hdd-rations-60355/

It does not have the battery drain issue

You will need to install v10 of the maps afterwards.
