^^^ He means the badge style, either flat original version found on the early 05 plate cars or newer raised (or 3D) version

no probs matsu--as in the link i posted above it will not sit flush -it will stick out about 2mm---

thats cool with me mate-i wanna make it a feature so 2mm will be subtle but enough.

Wow - I didn't realise the 3d badge just pops off without stripping the whole inside of the hatch out. I have a black front badge and was contemplating how I was going to get to the rear.

just to make sure I understand this right, I have an 05 GTI with the old flat badge, can I just remove the badge and put a new 3d one on or do I need to replace the whole mechanism? And anyone else got one spare???

think you will have to replace the whole badge-think Hurdy had a spare one unless he has sold it
