Stage 2 clutch
« on: July 31, 2014, 08:29:30 pm »
My gti is running a stage 1 remap now with 3" decat downpipe and intake I'm going for stage 2 remap soon but I'm worried about the clutch.

It shows no signs of slipping but I don't think it will last very long.

I'm going to put a clutch in just for piece of mind can I get away with just changing the clutch and the the duel mass flywheel? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sachs or Helix is what most peeps go for. I had the Organic Helix Clutch along with a new OEM DMF fitted after going stage 2 on my Eddy due to slip, Still happy now at stage 2+.

My clutch started to slip 268 bhp / 311 lbft and I fitted a helix organic clutch kit and new OEM DMF  and is a great set up , with plenty of scope for future proof tuning .... Ko4 proof

Thanks for the replys. Would I get away with keeping the same dmf without replacing it?

^^^^ IMHO you don't want to go to all the trouble of changing the clutch to an uprated one and then need to change the flywheel a wee bit later as you'll pay twice for removing the whole lot again.

Whats the rough price for the DMF and clutch? Also, what is the rough labor cost from an indie?
