Wow expensive glass
« on: August 01, 2014, 05:37:22 pm »
Just been to my local tps for some new mirrors for my gti as the mirror is coming away from the backing and can't believe that they want £89.94 for the pair what a con. The chap in the parts centre said that if you leave your mirrors on the heated section of the switch then over time this will make the glue brittle and the glass fall off. If they know this is a know problem then surely they should be doing them at a more reasonable price!!! Rant over!

Yep, I had my n/s fall off the other day. Thought I not bother trying to glue back on and just buy a new one. Was shocked when I found out the price said I'd think about it!! Parts bloke said hang and went out the back, when he came back he gave me some double sided tape and said I know your regular for parts so you can have this

Mine was like this when I bought it. First noticed it when driving on the motorway and the mirror glass was flapping up and down. Just bought a pattern part replacement of eBay wasn't expensive.

Is that just for normal mirror glass? Mine are auto dimming, and I've heard that that glass costs a lot more!
