200bhp GTi vs 230GTi Milltek DP & Hi-Flow Cat...
« on: November 02, 2009, 04:59:03 pm »
Is there a difference? Looking at the Milltek size, both are the same, infact, both systems look the same!

3" DP & Cat, Mating at 2.75" Cat Back...

Confused...I was under the impressing they were different!

The gti downpipe is 2.75'' the ed30/s3 version is 3''...

The cat back for gti and ed30 are both 2.75

Its only the downpipe diameter thats different

iirc the ed30 tail pipes are also of larger diameter than the standard gti ones.

The gti downpipe is 2.75'' the ed30/s3 version is 3''...

The cat back for gti and ed30 are both 2.75

Its only the downpipe diameter thats different

Is this for definate?! I'm looking into buying a second hand DP, just wondering which will fit...

From looking at the Milltek website I get the following for Ed30 :-

 1. LARGE BORE DOWNPIPE AND HI-FLOW SPORTS CAT

  Consists of: Tailpipe Style
   Downpipe and Hi-Flow Sports Cat
   Connecting Pipe

  Pipe Diameter: 3.00" (76.20mm)

AND for GTi :-

1. HI-FLOW SPORTS CAT AND DOWNPIPE

  Consists of: Tailpipe Style
   Downpipe and Hi-Flow Sports Cat
   Connecting Pipe

  Pipe Diameter: 3.00" (76.20mm)

SO Confusing me a little...

Also, how does a 3" DP fit to a 2.75" Cat-Back?!

Would it have to be Milltek specific?! So I wouldnt be able to make use of a Blueflame 3" for arguments sake?!

There is a reducing pipe.

The 3" or 2.75" DP will fit. :happy2:
