Honestly i think LSD will be a waste of money. Ive been running mine without, and providing you have decent tyres you wont need one (esp. as a 95% based road care)

Maybe Rich - I do have the XDS for the moment.. which is noticable

Will consider it but in regards to launching it, with the torque and power gains that occur so quickly (I think it doubles the power in about 600rpm) it would help a lot. Didn't really realise until Alex took me out in his.

But it is a huge outlay.

Would pay for a lot of other bits.

I would love an LSD on my GTI, I can feel it losing front end grip in tighter B-road corners now I've sorted the suspension out fully. But they are a huge outlay, but may be worth putting spare change into a pot for a few months to help fund it? Certainly what I intend to do.

Also, the gloss white wheels do work really well with the Rocco, think I've finally found a set of wheels I like on a Rocco.

D'aww fanks.

Going to put the LSD on hold and get some bits tidied up, enjoy the car for a while, start looking at bodywork etc.

got some Audio work done thanks to one of my best mates Jairm, he did all the Audio work on my old Golf.
(write up of the Golf here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,67735.195.html)

Got the following.
Hertz ESKL163.5L (fronts)
Hertz DSK 165.3L (rears)
Rockford Fosgate 10 inch Subwoofer (from my Golf).
MTX Terminator Amp (for the Sub)
Hertz 4 Channel Amp (to power the speakers).

A lot easier to do than the Golf, so much more space in the door for the Crossover Units, no need for adaptor rings either, the 16.5cm speakers fitted straight in place.

Crossover units going BEHIND the speakers, so had to cut a small hole to run the wires.

Did some strategic placing of sound deadening as well. Didn't completely cake the doors in it as it wasn't needed, just enough to keep the sound in where we want it - In the car.

It's long work so we only got the fronts done on Saturday. Didn't get many photos as I was working on a lovely classic beetle (1982 model been completely rebuilt and painted in Porsche Guards Red.

We're going to grab a couple of days off work over the next month or so, do the rears, and also going to do a rear seat delete and build up a false floor, tirm it all, get it fitting lovely, get the Amps mounted and wired in, and get a sub box all built up with additional sound deadening. Little fire extinguisher, etc.
Then onto getting a half cage done and harnesses sorted.

Going to watch this, your plans sound similar to how I want my GTI so if your man does a good job and doesn't cost the Earth, he may have some more business coming his way... :happy2:

Thanks dude! Just need to finish it off :)

He's very reasonably priced. Did all the bits on my Golf, I don't understand electronics or audio really, rather leave it to someone who does. I just help take stuff out haha.
I'm not paying for anything outside of some materials as I gave him my Evoms intake for his Leon.
Think the dates we are looking at are 23rd 24th April :)

Always like how VWR did the half cage and rear seat delete on theirs, alas i believe this car is no more as someone at APR ran out of talent

That's awesome - Something pretty much like that is what I'm going for. Except a sub somewhere too haha. I'll have to speak to Alex about sorting me a cage out.

Did find this.

Ahh wicked!

Basically going for the above build but with the sub and amps towards the front of the car.
I'd want a cage and strut brace as above really - exactly the look I want.
will put my own touches on it tooktoo though like luggage mounts for cargo nets, lighting etc.

Again, if it ends up looking as good as you think, I may go the same way myself next year. This year has turned into stage 2+ development instead of shiny things... Still working out how this has happened!

Or air con. Or standard seat. Or many interior panels... It's a slippery road starting a "race car"! :P
