ET42, 225 tyres and 30mm lowering ? Help.
« on: September 04, 2014, 09:56:19 am »
I'm worrying about potential rubbing issues if I do this, I've read so much about it and looked at the chart I've confused myself!

I have recently bought alloys I liked that are 18x8 et42, will be putting my 225/40 tyres on.

I bought the eibach sportline pro kit which is meant to be 30mm drop. Will it actually drop 30mm or more 25mm-ish ?

Would getting 215 tyres or only 20-25mm eibachs help this ? Maybe both ?

It's all ready to go but I would have time to change something before it gets done!

All help appreciated!
Grigor

Tyre size 225 fine, et fine, ride height fine. To be on the safe side do the arch screw removal mod. Google or search it. Easy job

Should be fine on a 30mm drop, might get occasional rubbing with a car load of people and roundabouts but should be fine for 99% of journeys

Thanks for the replys!
Not sure whether to sell 30mm eibachs and buy the 20-25 ones.

Will 30mm sit nice round the arches looks close already on the back ?

Dan, were you talking about it with or without the arch mod ?

Thanks

I have a 30mm drop, arches still sit above the tyre so relax... :happy2:

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

I was talking about without arch mod, it should be perfectly fine without it and will be 100% if you do it. Go for it mate  :happy2:

Mines at 50mm and get no rubbing whatsoever..even with a car full of people...no need to worry..just do it..lower the better....you won't be happy with less than 30mm...to be honest you won't be happy with 30mm once they're on..but hey ho....
