Been after a lump for ages to work on over the next year. A project to build an engine up from the bare block. Keep me posted

Your going to stick it in an old Volvo aren't you?  :innocent:

There's an idea. Fully forged 500 Bhp TFSI Volvo 240 :-)

I would donate it nice and cheap to see something like that happen

Postman brought me a small parcel today  :jumpmove:

Still undecided on the exact plan for the engine, got a few weeks to save and work out the plan. Mines running fine as long as you don't boot the sh*t out of it  :rolleye:

Oh, good shout on the injectors and FRV, hadn't thought of those 2. Hopefully will get it all opened up fully checked over with new gaskets and cambelt etc.. But it comes down to budget in the end, gunna be a tight few months. But that way will have a mint engine which I can have full confidence in going mad on track and autobahn

Well you couldn't miss doing the cam chain and tensioner since it's a really easy job when you've got the lump out.

Thats on the list although I don't think its such an issue with the newer engines

If the pickup pipe is contaminated on inspection I would do the above cause it will rattle.

Why not save and get lower compression, forged internals and a gas flowed head sorted?

Leave me alone guys  :rolleye: :signLOL:

If it was do-able then I would be all over it but I'm digging a hole for myself as it is tbh. A refurbished BWJ will run stage 2+ K04 all day (which is all I intend to do) so is plenty for my needs. All extra money will go on actually driving the damn thing when its done. Spa, Autobahn and Nurburgring are all calling my name

Well....everything's doable...forged internals with a BBT K04 hybrid or TTE 420 would see your round faster and would suit those stoppers you've got at the front.. Not to give you any more ideas or to influence you at all..

Haha, yeah I'd love that, but then its an LSD and suddenly I'm declaring bankrupt  :signLOL:

Have to accept that unfortunately unless I win some money in the next few months I won't be able to do that, turbo alone is £1600odd. I'll be more than happy with 350ish bhp, honeslty anything more and I'll just end up having my licence taken away for chasing Lambo's.

To be honest, if you're using stock K04 set up then get some China special boost pipe work:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Turbo-Discharge-Pipe-Conversion-For-VW-R20-Golf-Scirocco-R-2006-AUDI-TTS-FSI-/261675948859?hash=item3ced1a1b3b:g:ZH4AAOSw~1FUWE1B

Some of the guys on VWROC are using this and report it's all fine. Will help free up some torque low down from the K04 which can be quite laggy before 2,500RPM.
