Advice on clutch
« on: September 16, 2014, 11:00:49 pm »
I've had a search bit can't find anything definitive
Been running jabbasport stage one for a year got bored since added itg and full turbo back inc sports cat looking to go stage 2 maybe stage 2. +
My question is am I going to need to spend circa a grand for a clutch to handle power and torque or would a new standard clutch work I don't drive hard or do track days

The reason you can't find a definitive answer is because there isn't one really, it depends on luck tbh, some people have had clutches go at 40k on a stage 1 and some people run stage 2+ with 100k ad its fine. The OEM clutch isn't rated to handle the power that you'll run with stage 2/ 2+ all I can really say is that you should expect it to need doing because most of the time it will, if not immediately then normally within 6months or so unfortunately you wont really find out untit you do it. My plan when I go stage 2+ is to have enough money put aside to replace it when it inevitably does go.
