Duffa's mk5 - such white, much 3sdm, very GTI
« on: September 22, 2014, 06:48:57 pm »
So I got the car about this time last year.. Been pretty busy with it!

Swapped stereo for a alpine all singing and dancing unit as I like my sounds!
JL audio amp fitted under the seat and hidden, alpine sub in a tidy side build box.. 1000 watts rms at 2ohms so plenty good enough!

Wheels, apex coilovers, forge gear knob, forge boost hoses, k&n typhoon induction, revo pcv delete, m-tec gold drilled and grooved discs, repainted the calipers after mixing my own tornado red for them!!
Braided brake lines, 2 new rear calipers and new ac condenser and compressor..
Miltek cat back system.. For now until I remap it then it's going stright through..
Also fitted a full undertray..

Probably forgot a few bits..

So after fitting my wheels and finding that even after rolling the front wings it still rubbed on a turn with a incline.. I decided to get the srs tec wide front wings!
Been in our body shop last week for spraying after I test fitted for a week and they are spot on!

Next thing on list is s3 intercooler (some of you may have seen me asking if my forge hoses will fit)
Also need to retro fit the oem dab aerial as the reception is poor at the mo!

Any way few pics.. Enjoy

Wings all sprayed

Difference in inlet angle over standerd cooler hmm?

The fit is actually quite good! I had to sand off a bit round the headlamps and they touch due to them been thicker than standard there!!
Other than that very good! Never going to be absolutely perfect but in all honesty the originals are never really that brill..

Not going to go for xenon as I like the standard gti ones.. Plus got blue dips and yellow mains that look cool as f*ck when they reflect..

Main plans are like I say s3 cooler, miltek de cat then custom remap..
Thinking hybrid ko3 later also

Wanting some gauges inside too..

Probably be changing engine mountings and also after some better rear control arms as got a creaky one on right side doing my nut in!

Might also change the front and rear speakers, I do already have the 10 speaker system but I do hear good things about kits such as focal and jl audio
