Rear Air Vents
« on: September 23, 2014, 08:02:42 pm »
Hey guys,
Air vents which build in handrest are smashed up on my car. Seen brand new ones are selling under £12 but how can I change them? Anyone has how to or easy guide?

Many thanks

If u have the cup holder at the back too flip it open there should be torx screws, just undo them and pull the back part from the armrest. When u put the vent in make sure it's flush

Thanks for reply

I opened cup holders and could see two torx screws. Removed them and could remove cup holders only. There are another two torx screws on bottom, visible after cup holders removed, but I think they do attach armrest to the floor.

Open the cup holder. There are two T20 torx screws in there. Remove them and lift the arm rest up. The trim should come out toward you at the bottom and lift upwards to release the top part. I think the vents are secured by melting plastic pegs on the trim. The pegs fit through holes on the vent and are then melted over the holes to secure the vent in place, which is OK if it's a new trim but on an old trim the pegs will already have been melted to fit the original vent.
