I just paid 190 squid for Service and MOT on my EDDY, included cam follower replace, scans, New Oils and new spark plugs.

Also had them check my air con wasn't leaking so all good with the price, mine is DSG too.

don't know if that info helps?

I went to midland vw in Cannock and paid £215 for a full service.  I must say the done a goo job.  They were recommended to me by my brother inlaw.

Here's the web site http://www.midlandvw.co.uk/home.html

Had my edition minor serviced by lookers vw Teesside that was £129 I thought it was cheap because girlfriend had a major service done on a 1.2 fiat 500 and that was pushing £300 by a fiat dealer

Agreed. Alex uses better spec oil than VW as well. Mine's booked in on Wednesday and I'm driving there from Coventry. Definitely worth the miles IMHO.

Fans will be expensive and you might find that there is a good chance your compressor will have failed also.
Both fans will set you back IRO £900 if suppled and fitted by VW.
I have just replaced my small fan at great cost circa £560  :stupid:

You may find that you can repair these, but if both are gone its a good indication that the larger fan has burnt out as a result for compensating for the failed small fan.

Have you looked at the fans with the engine running and the Air-con switched on? The small fan should kick in, if this fails to happen then the larger fan will tend to over spin to compensate unless off course both have now failed.

Good Luck  :rolleye:

Just paid £250 at VW main dealer for a major service, including plugs, pollen filter, air filter, cam follower changed. also no charge for the loan car or the fuel used for 50miles, they ask for 20p per mile used, always forget to ask me for that.  :signLOL:

Any quotes get them to price match Seat/Skoda fixed prices as they are cheaper than VW currently.

DSG is fixed at £179 at VW just now.

I would definitely ring round as pricing seems to vary massively from place to place.

I'm in need of a major service and possibly cambelt and water pump etc. I'm based in Ilkley, does anyone know a decent Indy round the west/north Yorkshire area?

Was quoted this by VW too, after enquiring the same thing yesterday.

Both my fans have failed then, wouldn't be cheaper to buy replacement fans from eurocarparts?
The temperature on my car never risers about half way on the gauge surprisingly.

Spoke to another garage and he said he'd do things a lot cheaper which is good.
My dsg oil doesn't need doing yet as seen on vw website that it's every 40k I think can't be bothered to recheck but I'll probably do that next year

I've used PTP Volkswagen in Hagley for last 10years.  If anyone is in West Mids I would def recommend them
