Juddery and Lumpy on Idle Please Help
« on: November 09, 2014, 11:41:37 am »
Can anyone help, I have a gt tdi mk5 and the engine runs fine, but on idle the engine is very juddery and lumpy, I was told it was the maf sensor and got that replaced but it has made no difference.
what else could it be?

Could be the dual mass flywheel?
How many miles has it covered?

Used to have an A3 with the tdi engine in and mine did this badly and even used to stall. Think what i did was use aload of injector cleaner, new fuel filter and egr delete..... after that it was spot on and never did it again.

Hi it is in the garage it is NOT
-Injector loom
-Dirty injectors
-Maf senor
-EGR
-ECU issue
-Fuelling issue

It is becoming a mystery and is having all these different tests but still is the issue is not resolved

Does anyone know what else it could be?

PCV valve possibly need replaced? I'm sure this would cause lumpy/poor idle..

TDIs don't have a PCV do they?

My TDI is a bit lumpy. One thing to check is the timing torsion value and injection quantities using vcds.
If injection quantities are out it could pin point the issue to a particular cylinder.
I'm about to start checking this on mine.

no faults, they are saying

all fine starting from cold until say 2mins (maybe less) of running the lumpiness starts
