My Grey 3dr GTi
« on: November 15, 2014, 07:57:34 pm »
Posted here a while back that I was looking for a GTi and I've finally got one. Took some waiting to find one with the spec that I was looking for, but in the end the waiting paid off.

Some pics first (only 2 of mine so far, rest are from the ad):

And the spec (lifted straight from the for sale ad),
Factory xenons
Auto-dimming rear view mirror
Rain Sensing wipers
Factory Fitted Aero wipers
Electric heated mirrors
Winter pack, coming/leaving home lights.
Digital climate control
Heated seats
Cream leather interior
Dsg gearbox
Metallic paint

Mods: (From the ad again :ashamed:)
Carbonio Intake
Full Milltek
R32 Brakes (Front & Rear)
Neuspeed braided hoses
LED Rear lights
Lowered on H&R Springs
Polybushed suspension.

As I said above, I'm very happy with the car, and have a few small plans for it, like, fitting an RNS510 and a steering wheel w/ paddles (probably MFSW, too). Will probably replace the LEDs inside with new ones and do the footwell lights too. Other than that, I'm just going to enjoy it.

Can also see my other pride and joy parked behind it, a 02 Lupo GTi. Pictures of it on a sunner day when it was clean:

Nice purchase, looks like some tidy mods on there as well. Has it been remapped yet? With that hardware you'll see a nice gain and you've already got the brakes/ suspension upgrades to cope with the extra horses.

Cheers :)

Yep, it's been mapped already, feel a much stronger than the standard ones I'd test driven.

Love the Lupo GTI. And your yellow R32 front brakes. :happy2:

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Cheers, the Lupo is a great car, understated most of the time, but can draw attention if needed to also. Quite rare here in Ireland, too. (I believe it's one of 5 in the country)

The yellow calipers is something I love, and the fact the brakes have been upgraded makes a huge difference. (Lupo also has 280mm G60 brakes, makes a difference) One of the previous owners had the red grill 'lipstick' coded yellow to match the calipers, I'm considering doing that again. Also looking at getting the wheels powdercoated shadow chrome.

First things on the list is an RNS510 though, and most likely a new canbus. (Will post about this in the Satnav section)

The Lupo GTI is already a sought after classic, one of the under dog successes for VW. As for colour coding the grill surround, it's a good idea and I say do it. I've also got the R32 front brakes, they're a great upgrade but I'm going for more powerful Porsche front calipers when I can afford them!

Yeh the R32 setup is good but the 4pots are on another level, and a sh*t load lighter.

Thanks. I'm considering having them powdercoated in shadow chrome, but still undecided.

I find myself just going out at sitting in it in the evenings  :ashamed:

Seen this car on Autostadt. Very nice. The paddles on the wheel are fun so that sould be a good mod to do. Its very tempting to leave the DSG in D though! Best of luck with it and hope the retrofit goes well!

Cheers Kieran. I've my eye on a MFSW with paddles, just hope it's still available when I get paid later in the week! Will also be getting an RNS510 to go with it too with a bit of luck!
