Which Steering Controller Can I Use?
« on: December 03, 2014, 06:38:01 pm »
Just bought bbfb10's GTI Highline clocks.  Currently got midline with cruise.  What versions of the steering controller should I be on the lookout for so it all works properly?

Thanks :)

No, just a standard flat bottom, no paddles either, though would like the option to add one too......

STAGING/NEEDLE SWEEP ON ALL WHITE CLOCKS
LIT NEEDLESS, MILES TO EMPTY
GENUINE CAN GATEWAY - SUPPLY AND FIT

For now you wouldnt need one, but when you do add a mfsw then get a CH controller and change them both at the same time.

Picked up a MKV mfsw with paddles, so I need to get the controller, but will I also need a new slipring?

It depends which slip ring you have now. A quick way to tell is to scan with vcds and determine you existing steering wheel controller part number.
Use the Ross tech link above to see which slip ring that controller uses.
The CH controller uses a type 2 slip ring.

Thanks Jas.  Also think I'll be needing the airbag harness so I can reuse the existing airbag so I need to get that too.  I believe the part is 1K0 971 584 L??

Edit scratch that - found out I need the C revision.

Cool, mines a 1K0-953-549-F so its already a Type 2 so CH should be plug and play
