Once I have worn my Goodyear asymmetrics out, I am going to try those Hankook S1's, they seem to do fairly well in the tests.
I had the Hankook V12's on my other car and they were faultless, and exceptional in the wet.

I have Marangoni Mythos, not bad considering they are only budget tyres.

My other half has bridgestone re50's on het cooper s and I'm a big fan of these also. They do however wear very quickly. It does seem though, Reading all the reviews that there is nothing between the top tyres?! There are tests where all these tyres are number one but also where they are well down in the ratings. I wonder whether money sways some of the tests. I'm a big believer of the evo test as it's a great magazine that tends to say what it thinks. That and the fact their test was on a gti leads me to believe the results are very appropriate for us lot

What do you guys think of the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX TT?  I can get each on of these for £120 fitted.  Apparently, they're quiet good...  :driver:

Quick responses please as I need to decide either way today.  :driver:

P.S. Are Z rated tyres better than Y rated ones... I ask this as Z rating = 150+ mph, and Y = 186 mph, and W = 168 mph.

Z or W, you'll never utilise the Y rated tyres.

realistically i bet there isnt much between the top few brands of tyres.  So i guess it will end up all about the deal you get for them.

its gonna be vreds for me, just got a quote of 470quid for 4 235/35/19's delivered, looking at the reviews they get, at that price I can't afford not to give them a try

be aware of the vreds for the first 50 miles or so as the are like ice skates until they scrub in. then the grip was superb and continued to improve.

they are a tyre I have looked into. i just couldnt find any reviews on them at the time that wernt manufacturer biased.

Well, guys I'm 550 quid lighter in the pocket!

Went for the Michelin Pilot Sport 2s all around.  Also got them inflated with nitrogen - apparently it helps with fuel consumption and tyre expansion.  I've been informed that it's lighter than air and doesn't expand under heat like normal compressed air.

Now I got to figure out how to reset the tyre pressure indicator - any suggestions?

A couple of pics taken on the mobile for everyone to see:

ive heard aobout filling up tyres with nitrogen, but say for example you are going for a long journey and find your tyres are maybe 2-3psi lower tha  you want, ao you want to pump them up.  where do you go then. Cant say ive seen a nitrogen pump in a garage or service station. can you just mix air with it,

if so doesnt that just negate the whole point of nitrogen in the first place

there is no issues with topping them up with air

ive used it the last couple of times I've changed tyres, noticed it seems to retain its pressure for longer but cant be 100% sure

anyhow its £1 a tyre so hardly going to brake the bank well worth a punt

You can mix normal compressed air with nitrogen - but it would progressively reduce the benefits as the nitrogen content was displaced.

Otherwise, Kwik-fit provide free top ups if purchased from them.

It's actually a mandatory requirement for aviation tyres, and also used extensively in F1... I thought it would be worth a try.  It's quite a cheap and cheerful thing to try out.
