Hello From Wolverhampton - GT TDI 140
« on: January 01, 2015, 11:18:13 am »
Hi peeps.
My name is Jason and I have a 55 Golf GT TDI 140. I bought the car as a project, it was in a bit of a rough state and had been mistreated when I got it but I have spent the last couple months building it back up to its glory. Wasn't a Cat D/C, just very badly looked after. Had a large scuff on the passengers to side to both doors and the quarter, also needed the sill repairing. As you can see the front headlight bracket was broken and the previous owner obviously had a bump with the grill missing and front bumper in poor condition as well. The interior also needed either valeting or gutting, I've opted for gutting.

So far, I have resprayed the the front and passengers side and repaired the passengers sill, refurbished the R32 replica alloys that were fitted to it, repaired the AC radiator, fitted the GTI Front end and colour coded the splitter for the edition 30 look, also had new bonnet new, door skins etc. I've also changed a majority of the interior and I'm in the process of changing the seats, but all plastics and sill covers are now black instead of the horrible light grey they came in. Also serviced the car and in the process of changing the flywheel and clutch, and also the drivers side front bearing.

Next finishing touches will be side skirts, ed30 rear bumper, RCD510 Unit, ed30 rear lights.

Let me know what you think! Probably my favourite car I have done so far! My last car was a 2010 Scirocco GT 140 TDI. Also had a 2007 Clio 197 (repaired Cat C), 2002 Civic Type R EP3 (repaired Cat D), 2005 Fiesta Zetec S, Citroen C2 ( First car Lol).

You weren't kidding the car was a  mess when you got it but you have done a excellent job on turning it around
