Rear lower arm bushes = front Wishbone rear bushes? WALK
« on: January 08, 2015, 12:07:42 pm »
Hi all, hopefully someone can enlighten me.

My local garage said that my rear lower arm bushes were split on my GTI. Are these the same as the front Wishbone rear bushes?

If this is the case could I replace these with a WALK kit / powerflex equivalent along with powerflex/superpro front wishbone inner bushes?

Also, how much labour is this likely to be at a garage?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am a bit lost.

Any help appreciated!
Thanks!

Clarify with your garage?

It's front wishbone front / rear bush
Rear bush is not a WALK kit
The WALK/SALK kits are whole new consoles with specific bushes.

Rear arm bushes are prone to splitting and require rear suspension arms to be dropped. I think Alex says it's a 4 hour job.

Cheers for the info!
I will try to check with my garage to find out.
So an anti lift kit doesn't replace the rear bushes?

The SALK is better than the WALK. They replace the rear bush of the front lower suspension arm. If your GTI needs the rear lower arm bush replaced, then that's the rear axle suspension control arm, not the front where you install the SALK/WALK.

Like Jay said, clarify that with your garage.
