If you use a thin small screwdriver to initially pry away the bottom of the badge at the 6 o clock point, then you can use a credit card or trim removal tool to gradually shimmy round and prise the badge off the back. The mk6 bevelled badges fit onto the mk5 rear mechanisms too but i think there were two clip patterns so some mk6 badges need some tabs to be broken off etc.
bit of patience and sometimes a soak in hot water helps get the badge off easier! Hope it helps!
