Bi xenons for gti mkv
« on: January 11, 2015, 09:43:47 pm »
Hi all, new to the gti forum but not new to the gti as I had a mk1 years back.
Wondered how easy it is to fit these bi xenon headlights and are they plug n play unit's and has anyone fitted them.
Also do they work with the height adjuster switch in the car next to the dash dimmer?.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.  :drinking:

Yeap, Xenons are plug and play and easy to swap over. Bi Xenon feature is also a fairly easy feature to do (being only 1 wire).

No the levelling switch will not work with retrofitted xenons. Loads of threads on fitting xenons etc etc, use Search to look around.

Thanks for the message, will the R32/ed30 head lights work with levelling?. Thanks again and I'll do a search to see what I can find.   :happy2:

For xenon auto levelling there's some sensors / wiring to be retrofitted. Approx £300.

Hi jas, is that just for the wiring and sensors?.
I thought we had self levelling sensors and it was just a case of fitting the headlights with these?.

If your car was not fitted with xenon's from factory, the self levelling kit will not be installed, just the manual level adjuster, but that doesn't work with xenon's so becomes redundant.
