Cruise Control playing up
« on: January 19, 2015, 03:08:06 pm »
Hi All,

Ive fitted cruise control on a few cars with no problems, fit it on @Rob1 Golf and its having a few issues.

Coded the steering wheel control module and also in engine. Coding accepted on both, No faults when scanned with vcds. However the cruise light doesnt come on.

We took the car out for a drive and switched the cruise on when the car was doing 20+ mph and the light came on when i flicked the switch on and the cruise started to work! but once the CC cut out (after braking) the switch wouldn't work again.

Any ideas? its a REV F stalk.

Hasnt been working since. The light has never come on when ignition is turned on.

Mine did similar, turned out it was the stalk, or to be precise the switch in the stalk which you can swap out in-situ...

You can prize the switch out of the stalk and disconnect it and reverse to fit (there's video on YouTube of how to do it)... mine's been working now for about 2 years since repairing :)

Thanks for the reply guys I'll see how it goes. It certainly takes a bit getting used to driving with using my right foot infrequently
