AP racing kit cheap! now with pics

They are on and they are as good as I hoped- although after only 90 miles they are still a little green to assess their ultimate performance- so far they are squeal free, smooth and very positive. I am looking forward to a dry road test but they are clearly more powerful than standard FR/Gti brakes already. They look good as well. The saving in weight-unsprung weight is clear too. The calipers save around 3kg per side and the o/e discs  are heavier -by a fair bit- than their  two piece alloy bell  and  steel rotor replacements. 335s for less weight than 312s!! All the alloy bits are anodised against corrosion and the bleed nipples and fixings are stainless. All for £1025 fitted including longer wheel bolts and braided lines!!

Can the carrier be reversed?  It would then allow the possible fit of an R32 Splashguard.  enjoy them!

I don't think the carriers can be reversed so the splashguards are not an easy fit-I'm not sure that matters.
The AP quoted caliperweight is 2.8kg. Standard Fr calipers- with pads are 6.6kg and standard discs are 8.6kg Total weight saving is at least 4.6kgs per side- and the braking is immense after only 100 miles and without having tried maximum effort stopping -so far on damp roads and without full on effort they are clearly better than O/E

Looking good, very powerful. Are the carriers helicoiled? They would need to be as the acid process in the anodising will take the tops of the threads inside.

You are far above my head Dave! I will forward your comment to the maker/supplier but the carrier to hub bolts are the originals and I don't know the grade of stainless for the carrier to caliper bolts. What do you reckon the solution may be and how much of a problem may arise?

I asked and was told 7075!
They are well bedded in now and I am  slowly re-calbrating my braking points for familiar roundabouts!! It is easy to end up ready to turn and 40 yards short-they are utterly benign in slow traffic too.

So if i was about to change my bike calipers from normal to radial, i should get adaptors made from 7075 al???

Seriously tempted with these. Especially as I will be up your way in a few weeks time.

Any further thoughts or updates since fitting? Any track time on them yet? What type of pads come with them?

 Track time???- - in fact precious little dry and unfrozen time- I have had no problems with these and so I can tell you they work very well in ordinary use and are sensitive enough not to have made ice driving any more difficult than it has to be. Eagle F1s are not first choice for extreme winter conditions. As far as I know my supplier made two sets for Leon/Mkv fitment and has one left. His specialist line is the Peugeot 306 Gti 6 and Rallye- although his garage does lots of other and general work.

So to clarify, you can get the TVR completely machined off and repainted in red?

also do they increase the offset any further? I'm running VZ033 which already has an increased offset over standard - I wouldn't want the wheels sticking out any further than they are already.

The bells add 7mm offset -I'm not sure Iknow what VZ033 is or are-sorry if I should! You can have the caliper machined flat if you want and your choice of colour.

Edit:Just searched BBS wheels!
It may be that the 7mm offset was needed for my 17"s to clear -I suspect the bells could be machined to suit if that is the case.
You would need to talk to the guy direct.
