So on Saturday I had the camshaft sensor replaced along with the cambelt and water pump.

Starts and runs spot on. We blocked the EGR so will have it mapped out when it goes in to Darkside.

Hi Shaun the car continues to look good. What do you mean by the above statement, as I have the air con system which is the least aspect of my car.

Also is the ED30 or Gti rear lower valance

Cheers Rob

Rob, the rear valance is from a GTI.

As for the heating controls, I'm still unsure myself tbh. After seeing @marko changing his to a mk6 I instantly wanted to do the same but after messaging him it turns out that the mk6 can not operate the air-con.

Not sure if there is one which will do it, maybe @Eddie-NL could resolve this for me  :happy2:

This is what I currently have...

And this is what I'd like to go to...

And if it can be done, how does the heated seats work. I currently have 5 heat settings but the mk6 only has 3 lights? Does it just convert 5 to 3?

Any help from anyone would be appreciated.

I have this fitted on my mk5 ,it works perfectly. Follow the instructions from this link. https://www.drive.net/l/4834033/ ,all the hardware in the passat climatic is the same with the mk5's.. so why not do it..

cheers !!

Winter wheels coming and going on over the weekend.

If anyone wants a winter set, my R32 reps are for sale: www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,101196.msg990883.html#msg990883

Counting down now til it goes in to Darkside 9/10th November for exhaust, EGR removal and map.

Really need to pull my finger out and get new bumper on, but the wedding is killing me!!

So on Saturday I had the Golf and our Insignia carbon cleaned.

Very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend. The guy has an incredible S5. If anyone gets time, Google 'Cuppa S5 build thread' as it's well worth a read.

And last night I got my new winter wheels on thanks to @whiteatom

Well I've had mine about 2 months and had a few problems which have been killing me. 2 exhaust sensors being the main issue... G235 and G450... Am I right in saying the 140 doesn't have the DPF?

Yes mate. No DPF here. Had this 12 months now, and 25k later still feels/runs great!

Without knowing too much about DPF's and the like I rushed in and went for the 170... Starting to wish I had gone for the 140 and got it mapped now. Hindsight hey?

Yes, it's a wonderful thing!

But you have got a very well spec'd car there. Stick with it
