It all just shows yet again that we each have our individual preferences and of course that the Recaro's won't suit everyone's body shapes and sizes, nor their condition if they have back problems etc.

Personally I find them extremely comfortable and supportive on long journeys. On track etc when also combined with the Schroth 4-point seatbelts, the Recaro's support even better.

The stock GTI seats are exceptionally good too.

jesus, long journeys and harnesses?

i think yours and my idea of a comfortable long journey is significantly different!

i dont think i can see myself on the M1 fully harnessed up!

My wording was ambiguous - I only wear the Schroth on track or special German one-way toll road.

well if you have an .:R32 interior to swap with him...a top whack £1000 cash though as well :surprised:

i dont care if its a sellers market, or how rare/cool they are, but they are only worth what someone is will to pay for them, and thats mental money

theres a reason they are still for sale  :innocent:

...and not just because of the price

i have these seats in my s3 and they are brilliant but would nt want them if i used the car as a daily drive !

.... :surprised:

Why not may I ask?
cause i think they would be worn out at 20 k miles esp if used by guys who dont get in and out by lifting out !!

i think the seats are great , got great support and imo very comfortable and even in full leather you dont slip around at all , the oem gti seats are also very good but the oem s3 seats are imo quite poor

If a side does show signs of 'collapse' it's easy to get an upholsterer to rebuild just the foam inside that section. Mine is showing signs but it's still just as effective at holding me in and so I'm not too fussed.

I suffer with back problems too and after 2 x trips to the Ring with these seats I have felt no ill effects. Yes the standard seats are comfier but so is your armchair!

I felt these seats hold me in better and inspire confidence when the mood suits. Yes they are a tad on the hard side but I don't mind................  :happy2:

And they look better!  :P

Don't get me wrong, i will stick with the lower back pain all day long haha. I love the seats to bits, and they do support you very well, i just find that the lower portion of the seats isn't great. I love them as they do seem to be pretty rare. And besides it's not everytime i drive it, it could just be cause i've had a long hard day at work.
