Fiscon Basic Plus Bluetooth Music Streaming
« on: March 16, 2015, 09:03:16 pm »
Hi all,

I have had a good trawl through the previous search menus for an answer but cannot find anything conclusive so bear with me.

This eve I have installed the Fiscon Basic Plus kit as the previous Dension Pro BT solution didn't like my RNS510 and interfered with the Nav menu - however I am now struggling with the Bluetooth Music Streaming on the new Fiscon unt.

Phone, Mic and E-MFA works and syncs as one would expect however the A2DP Bluetooth Music function has poor (quiet/mono) sound and no track listings, just appears as Bluetooth Audio on both the RNS510 and Highline display? Previous system had both working fine?
The is no option of SMS at all appearing although that is probably down to my Phone - I expect?

To get track listings displayed in the highline display/RNS is there any coding required?
I haven't had the phone function activated on VCDS yet but it still sees my iPhone 6 and syncs as one would expect - making calls and seeing the phonebook.

Anyone have any ideas or advice?
Thank you in advance  :happy2:

I have the same issue with the audio quality out of the Fiscon Basic Plus. I tried it with my iPhone 5 and wasn't impressed but that didn't surprise me as the iPhone isn't exactly known for it's stellar bluetooth performance, I since changed to a Galaxy S5 and that's a little better but still nowhere near the level of quality I'd expect. Track listing doesn't seem to work and my RNS sometimes doesn't even show bluetooth audio. I gave up with it in the end and am looking for an MDI kit instead now.

My SMS menu didn't show until I upgraded the phone to the latest version of Android, it never showed for my iPhone, but even though it appears now it's still not showing anything in there at all, even if I get a text while driving if I try to look at it on the highline (at traffic lights or stopped obviously ) I get no messages found on the screen.

I would definitely get the phone coded on VCDS to see if that helps anything, it didn't for me unfortunately but you never know

Galaxy S4 here.
A2DP is crap quality, never use it.
Had a pioneer AVH2500BT before, Bluetooth audio streaming was CD/Ipod quality.
Better options out there if you want bluetooth streaming than OEM bits.
For normal handsfree though Fiscon is great.

Thankyou for the replys guys - I have today managed to make a dramatic improvement in the Bluetooth Music streaming department.
Basically I realised that the A2DP Stereo option was probably not enabled as standard so after reading the online instructions I have managed to get that working and to be honest it does sound very good now - atleast as good as my old Dension Pro BT system

To enable the following - you need to pair your mobile phone and input the code listed below on your headunit, then dial the number.
STEREO A2DP activated/ voice control activated  *582#4007
It will say number not recognised etc and cut off after a second or two.

Then I left the car for half an hour to shut down fully and upon my return the sound was "fixed" - nice and crisp and in stereo!

Still pretty dissapointed that the Tracks arent listed however I can live with it - probably safer for me too if the text function is inoperative too!

Now I need to figure out how to get the BOOST figures to work in the E-MFA!!  :signLOL:

Does anyone know how to change the Fuel Readout on the E-MFA from G (gallons) to L (Litres)? Doing my head in!

I think in one of the menus there's the one where you can change your boost from BAR to PSI to kpa or whatever, I thought it was in there but can't find it
didn't end up using that anyway, i have a fuel gauge  :signLOL:

Trying this at lunch as well - A2DP streaming wasn't the best quality! Hopefully because it was mono only :D

I had this problem too, going to try this and see if it works.

I was told that you can't make the boost figures come up with the tfsi engines which is a shame  :sad1:

I have fiscon basic plus fitted on my Audi Q5 TFSi 211 (2009) concert radio (firmware 0310), right hand drive.

A2DP is mono quality, even if using 258224007 or 258224003 codes. I am now using a second aux bluetooth device which I got cheap from ebay (aux in the arm rest)

I tried 2 phones (lenovo A6000 and Prestigio PSP3530) and I dont get any SMS option displayed in the concert radio or the speedometer mfi display.

Regarding boost, even if I got the lap timer active, oil temperature and boost are not displayed.
