Projector headlights...
« on: March 22, 2015, 02:26:25 pm »
I've searched and I see that this topic is regularly discussed.

I currently have some projector headlights but they have no headlight motors. The beam is too high even at the lowest setting (even though my local MOT station said they'd pass) and so i'm looking to change them. When driving on the motorway it will light up all the signs on the side of the road etc, way way too high on the kick up.

Looks like my options are between the Depo ones and Hella ones, if I can get hold of them. So, my question is, what are the beam patterns like on each type of headlight? The more photos you have of yours the better. I just don't want to buy depos to find that they're no better than what i currently have!

Cheers!

Hella ones are impossible to get hold of at the moment, I tried. I have Depo ones and beam pattern is absolutely fine without adjustment for me, no one has flashed me and I can see perfectly

So no excessively high beam that lights up all the signs and stuff?

If that's the case I'll probably just go for Depo ones as they're significantly cheaper than hella too!

Nope not at all, I do however have my adjuster wheel set to the lowest setting, but for me it's perfect!

Got Depo ones myself too and the pattern is fine. I had mine adjusted so they are at position 2 on the wheel so if I want I can pull the beam higher on empty roads.

Mine required the 6'oclock mod yes, although others have said they didn't need it so I guess it's just pot luck.

Mine require the 6 o'clock mod too. Currently I haven't done it, and it isn't actually that bad, but I will be sorting it out next week as it doesn't take long to do

Does anyone have photos of their beam pattern against a wall/garage for Depo headlights please?
