SUG'S MK6 R
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:50:12 pm »
Well had the R for 18 months now and still enjoy driving it as much as when I first took it for a spin. Fantastic all rounder and love how people underestimate what they are actually capable of with a little hardware/software upgrades.
Previous to this I had the beloved eddy another faultless car apart from a new clutch needed when the stage one map melted it. Only fitted some eibach springs, stage one software and a few different sets of wheels to this as was pretty new to the tuning scene.

Bought in Nov 2013 with 40k, DSG box, 19s, DCC, Dyno audi, Full leather, Cobra tracker, Sat nav and VW warranty until may 2016.
Only pic I have when first bought her sorry

So my aim was stage 2+ and as a APR dealer was 15 mile away chose to go there.
First things first though
VWR lowering springs

Then for some wheels, struck lucky with this purchase as they were originally intended for an EVO X but when arriving from Japan were wrong fitment so I snapped his hand off for them.
Advan Racing RS in gunmetal grey. Just under 7kg a wheel ( 19" tally is 17kg) nice 40kg saving.
Never seen any on a golf yet?

How she looked with springs and wheels along with front and rear gloss badges

Some rear plate lights

Then replaced plugs, R8 coil packs and an Evoms intake

Loba Motorsport HPFP

BCS downpipe and sports cat

Then off to get the APR stage 2+software (Automotive solutions Peterlee) VW specialist.
Mate looking nervous

What a difference from stage 1 especially mid rage. Off the mark is brutal even more so using DSG launch and the grip is never ending really hard to loose any sign of traction even in the wet.
Then came the gloss black roof wrap which I wasn't totally convinced on but thought what the hell and iam very pleased with the result

So that brings me up up to date not really sure what to do next?

Your car looks the nuts mate!  :happy2: Really like the look of them in red, dont think i've ever seen a red 6r in the flesh. As for whats next, have you thought about swapping the intercooler? Fitted a Peron one to mine the other week, lovley bit of kit.

No mate I'm up in sunny Durham. Yeh would prob benefit with an upgraded cooler but I only really drive it on a Sunday so doesn't often get a good blast out. The wife drive it all week so it won't see over 3k revs

I have only ever seen another red one and that was in sunderland. Then again you don't see many 6R's at all, which I like

Also fitted a powerflex engine mount. Although its tightened the engine movement and hopefully prevents exhaust damage the vibration is terrible so will be looking to change that soon if anyone has any recommendations?

Beautiful motor mate - love the roof!
I think 6R's are awesome and rare considering I saw 4 7R's today in and around Waddington/Lincoln!

Where Napoleons armies marched with horse and musket and Hitlers Reich crumbled in blood and rubble, the warriors of Armageddon do battle against the landscape of hell now indeed thrive the ARMOURERS

Yeah, 7R's are everywhere round here. They're ace cars but the rarity of the 6R makes it cool! There's a nice red 6R on Waddo camp most days, got a REVO sticker on too so defo been played with! :happy2:

Nice car mate! you are in same situation as me, hit stage 2+ and ran out of things to do without going really mental and perhaps risking reliability. I came from edition 30 aswell and I can agree with you that the 4WD is amazing, so much traction!
