Pioneer SPH-DA120 thoughts?
« on: April 01, 2015, 08:29:42 am »
Just bought my first mk5 Gti and need to replace the stereo for a BT, iPhone unit.  Not too worried about Nav as the iPhone 6 does a fine job of that.

Also, this Apple Airplay, whilst still young, looks pretty fly - any experiences of it with the Pioneer SPH-DA120 headunit?  Budget wont stretch to an RNS 510...!

And hello everyone!

Hello!

Did you end up purchasing this system?

Reason I'm asking as I have one in mine, left by previous owner. I'm struggling to understand how to get the thing set up properly. It appears to have some great features but I just cant get them to work, or find enough info on the web for some help. Things going to be getting replaced at this rate!!

Thanks

Fully agree Kam,

Appears I need various cables to get this "mirrorlink" working. I cant even just plug my iPod in as I need another cable...

Pain in the arse for what it is. Cant play anything via USB either. Its a horrific bit of kit, great idea, but not pulled off very well....typical from pioneer these days IMO.
