Spooky electric windows, advice needed ?
« on: April 02, 2015, 04:41:55 pm »
We have a 5 door mk5 GTi '56 plate and on a couple of occasions my wife has parked the car after a drive and on returning to the car noticed that all 4 windows have have come down about an inch or 2 from their originally fully closed position. She thought at first maybe she had left them open in error. However, she just went to the shops and on her return the windows were lowered by about an inch or 2 again but she knows 100% that all the windows were closed when she parked the car.
Is there something wrong with actual the remote control fob or is she using the remote incorrectly somehow ? The car remote alarm fob also has the ability to close all 4 windows at the same time when parked if required although i've never used this myself, don't know if they all do that so I thought i'd mention it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers guys  :happy2:

Probably something leaning/pressing the unlock button on the key fob for a few seconds.

Thats what im thinking yer, if u hold down the unlock button it opens all 4 windows same with  if you hold the lock button it closes the windows

How often does it do it? Be worth keeping her keys somewhere else maybe her pocket see if it still does it?

Ghosts in the machine.

Guess: Window Motor or Drivers side switch pack... is there anyone local to scan for beer tokens?
