Footwell lights not working
« on: April 12, 2015, 12:15:48 pm »
Hey guys and Gals,

I replaced all the interior bulbs with LED's last week and all was working well until last night. The majority of them are all still fine but the drivers side footwell lamp went out and when I stopped to check it, it sounded like the LED lamp had broken. On the way back home after my visit, the passenger side did the same thing. This morning after checking it appears both LED lamps had broken in the holders (don't buy cheap LED lamps). I have since replaced them with OEM bulbs and they still won't illuminate.
I have checked the fuse and it's fine as all other interior lamps are still working well.
Any idea what might cause this?

I'm gonna scan the car later and see if anything shows but just thought I'd see if anyone knows why.

Thanks
Nick

EDIT
Looking up on it, looks like the wiring might have given way (burnt out) with the broken LED lamps. I'll trace the wiring and see if I can find anything.

Oh well, it was down to the age old problem of SOS (stupid owner syndrome). Contacts in the housing were goosed. Working now but I must say what a crap design they are.
