looking at an edition 30 but is fairly basic with no highline, mfsw and single cd, has ipod dock in armrest, i believe i would have to replace the whole wheel to get a mfsw, but could i literally plug in a colour nav out of another golf, not aware of model numbers of what i should get, what should i expect to pay

Yes you can literally plug in a nav unit. The model is RNS 510, lots of info on here about them.

Might need some coding, depending on firmware etc.

There's also the MFD2 (older than the rns510 and non touch screen). It's about £200 cheaper than the rns 510. The rns510 cost around £500-600 on ebay.

If you want an RNS510 Mortygttdi on here can do them fitted for much less than the ebay prices, I'm definetley planning on hving one in the new year. Worth a PM.

Your Ipod dock will just plug in to the back of it, he's also able to code it in as well. Handy chap to know
