edition 30 and standard gti side skirts - differences
« on: April 30, 2015, 10:49:24 pm »
Are there any differences between the two? Im looking to get side skirts painted but not sure if they will look great. I'm contemplating whether to just get edition 30 side skirts and have them painted.

What do you guys think?

Is there any pictures I can see to assess the look of a painted side skirt and an edition 30 one on a car?

As far as I know, they're identical, apart from GTI skirts being textured and Ed30 being smooth (primered too I think).

But, the smooth skirts are riduculously expensive.

I'm in your position, and I've opted to have the GTI skirts flatted back by the bodyshop before they're sprayed.

It will cost more in labour but I'm damn sure not as much as Ed30 skirts would!

gti are textured and black.
ed30 are smooth and colour coded.
i smoothed mine back and then sprayed them instead of being ripped of by the ed30 ones.
my strength lies solely in my tenacity

There is a slight difference in design but most people won't notice.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
