Mk5 Gti General modification help, (splitter)?
« on: May 19, 2015, 09:31:52 pm »
Hi guys,

Looking at doing some little bits and bobs to my car to try make it look less standard, Its a 3dr Gti In black which at the moment is extremely standard looking.

So far I have done a couple of little modifications, fitted a Pipercross panel filter, and today fitted my front vented fog light grills, along with my private plates! Also ordered some GTI grab handles for the seats which should arrive next week. However, I want to make it look nicer and more aggressive looking on the exterior.

Front splitter, but I have literally no idea which ones to look for, any help would be appreciated? Looked at some 30mm eibach lowering springs, not sure what people think about these, brand new they're £160, seems cheap to me?

Just after some inspiration, if anyone could point me in the direction! Happy to do things myself aslong as they're not too technical. (Some pictures of the first mods i did)

I want to colour code the rear bumper too, how easy it this to do? What coilovers would you reccomend mate! Don't want to lose the comfort of the ride either!

Yeah, just find the centre of the original splitter, then the centre of the Leon one, trim the centre bits down then screw through the centre of these and screw it all around so it looks right the. Trim the extra off at the corners near the front wheel, take you about an hour tops.
How hard can it be?

My GT Sport with a GTI splitter colour coded and crude plastic center:

With Ed. 30 splitter colour coded with gloss black center:

I prefer the Ed. 30 splitter. If you're paying for the colour coding better get a replica from the Ed. 30 splitter from ebay, for example.

Ok brilliant, ill have a look into getting something with the splitter sorted!

Anyone have any other ideas of good, easy mods I can do?

Another question, I have an Aux option on my factory fitted sat-nav head-unit, but nowhere to plug it in! Do i have to wire an aux cable into the back of the unit?
