Just some quick advice before I pick the car up

Might sound a bit..... over the top but..

When I pick the Golf up (hopefully Saturday) - you think I should plug in the OBD2 dongle I have and run Torque to see if there are any ECU errors?  Or think I should just get it home etc.

I know someone who has the full Vagcom / VCDS? (not sure the difference) so could get better read outs off that.

Reason I ask is I see alot of posts about the DV and PCV etc, when I test drove it, felt ok but was 4 up (me, missus' dad and his GF and the 6ft 3in 17 stone salesman)...

Might be nothing but best to check?

If u can take the vagcom then yes.
Tho they might have cleared the car before you get there. If there are no error codes get them in the car and drive it for a bit to make sure, then rescan it.

Definitely take VCDS and scan. There'll be a load of old errors I'd say.

Don't let a failed pcv or dv put you off whatsoever. Both would only cost £100 to diy!

Yeah don't mind there being the issue there but I'd ask they rectify it!  It is a dealership so if something like that was already gone I'd just go back anyway.  I get the standard 3 month warranty too.

Definitely take VCDS.  Sellers with nothing to hide (or are ignorant about diagnostics) won't object to you plugging the laptop in.

Scan the Central Convenience ECU because a lot of GTIs throw up alarm related fault codes.  Interior motion sensor, alarm horn and vehicle inclination sensor being the common ones.  Not the end of the world but might not be cheap to fix.

Engine ECU will probably just show the usual N80 Evap purge valve fault.
