MK5 GTI with ITG CAI (Sound test)

Bought myself a new microphone for my GoPro camera and decided it would be a good idea to put the mic in my engine bay.

I strapped it directly behind my CAI (clipped to my battery).... the result sounds odd to say the least  - diesel engine sound at the very beginning :|

Does it sound like that from inside the car (not as loud of course)

Thanks - it sounds exactly the same just not as loud. The diesel engine ticking you can only hear from the outside or with the windows down on a quiet day.

Here's a video from the inside, but this is without an external microphone (GoPros inbuilt mic which is poor) and a full waterproof case on.

Yeah the sound quality is pretty bad. I think I'm getting the Neuspeed at the end of June so im hoping it will make a similar sound.

I love the sound of this Simo - I'm sure the Neuspeed will sound just as great.

Just a rev D at the moment - should probably get that changed to a G considering it's been 18 months on the same DV.

how are you getting the dump sound on a normal DV

I've fitted an ITG Maxogen cold air intakr
I've also strategically placed the microphone in the engine bay, behind the CAI.
