Hi guys.

Small update.  I had a dension gateway lite BT in my Audi so I contacted dension and got a replacement cable to connect to the golf.

Fitted the kit this morning and I have to say it's much easier to do in the golf than the Audi.

Great sound quality when streaming music from my iPhone and the voice calls are very clear.

Thanks for reading.

You get the knocking sorted at slow speeds? Mines still bloody doing it haha.

Had my trusted mechanic take a look and he's pretty sure he knows what it is...(the spring diameter) basically he said he has seen it once before and its basically the spring moving slightly in its holder/cup when being turned at slow speed. I haven't got a clue but he's pretty confident he can sort it next week by putting some rubber insulation on the ends of the coil of the springs.

anyway no idea if it will work but worth a shot as its not costing me anything. Was just curious of you'd had any luck? If not Il report back how mine goes

Hi mate.

No luck yet. I'm gona get the car on a ramp at work next week. I think it may be subframe bolts.  It doesn't knock when on a 2 post ramp and the wheels are at full sag so I'm gona try on my 4 post ramp at work and get someone to turn the wheel whilst I'm under it.

If you could let me know that would be great.

I'll update if I find anything.

Hi guys it's been a while.

A couple of weeks ago I was hit by a foreign lorry so my car is in the garage for repair. Car needs a new wing, door, tyre, wheel refurb and a new mirror. A massive annoyance but atleast nobody was hurt.

Been given a beast of a courtesy car, not quite like for like but hey ho

Can't wait to get her back now!

So today I picked my car up from the garage after 3 weeks.

The job the garage done on the repair is great. Cannot fault!

One happy chap

hey guys.

Haven't posted in a couple of weeks due to being busy with christmas etc.

Last night i spent a long time reading through @MateyGuv build thread. Was an excellent read and gave me a big kick in the butt to get more mods done even if they are subtle and nobody may know they are even there.

Here's a link to his build thread: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,69555.0.html Great read!

So today i got a few things done that I've been wanting to do for a while. Please excuse the dirty car.  :ashamed:

Changed my hazard switch to a cherry red one. £4 or so from ebay. very easy to install, there are a lot of guides on here on how to remove the centre console. only takes around 10-15 mins.

Also got my seat inserts fitted. They definitely add a little something.

And not to everyones taste but added a set of Team Heko wing deflectors. I dunno why i do this to all my car but i like them.  :jump move:

Im also hoping to collect a Ramair induction kit off one of the guys on here so ill show photos etc of installing that when i get it. I will also give a review on it as i know a lot of people say that they are losing torque low down once fitted.

I have also got a pair of Vibe slick 6c component speakers to install. Any ideas on what kind of mounting rings to use would be great.  :happy2:

Ordered a set of subframe bolts from eBay to see if it will cure my annoying knock that I've had since lowering the car  :fighting:

Anyways thats all for now.  :happy2:

Thanks for reading.

Your GTi is coming along nicely  :happy2:
Thank you for the kind words about my car - I'm trying to build it so non car people think it's a nice looking car but people that know will notice little changes then will look closer and see more and more. The more you look the more you see  type thing  :drinking:

So this morning I picked up the ramair induction kit from @tommy2478.

I was umming and arrring about fitting it today but after some breakfast I decided I would do it.

It was pretty easy to install. Old air box and engine cover came out pretty quick and the induction kit went in pretty easy.

Heat shield fitted. Looks pretty smart imo.

Turbo pipe:

Heat shield by the l/h headlight:

Didn't realise how big the cone was

All done:

Took it for a test drive once fitted and I like it . Turbo noise is fairly loud but it doesn't bother me too much. I can also say I haven't noticed much if any drop in low end torque.

Anyways thanks for reading. Comments as always welcomed
