Edition 30 Charcoal Cannister

Hi Guys,

First post on here as a newbie so sorry if this has been answered before.

So was driving my son to the child minders last week and the exhaust warning light came on, no noticable change to response etc.

Went to VWAudiTec in Chelmsford the next morning to have diagnostics done etc, they came back and said that it was a fault with the Charcoal Cannister, and that to fix this it would need to be replaced along with pipes. The parts had to be ordered so booked it in for today to have this done. They came in at £200 + a small bit of change. Firstly is this price about right?

Over the weekend whilst driving to Kent had to boot it to make some lights and the warning light went off. Pulled over and stopped the car to restart it shortly after to see if it came back which it didn't. Thrashed it about a bit on the M25 to test and the Eddy was pokey as ever, light didn't come back. IF it does how bigger problem is a faulty Charcoal Cannister?

Went back to VW Audi Tec this morning and payed the diagostic fee. I have to say they were actually refreshingly non-pushy and agreed to refund the fee if the work had to be done in the future, so on the plus seem to have found a pretty good local specialist. :happy2:
