Depo Xenon headlight Help
« on: June 17, 2015, 06:10:31 pm »
Hi guys,

Seen a few people mentioning the Depo Xenon headlights for their mk5 Golf gti and what im about to ask may seem like a stupid question, but I am self confessed no expert at all.

I have a Mk5 golf gti and it came without Xenons, this is an upgrade I would quite like to do but the price tag of some Genuine ones is well, a little bit scary hahah!

Can someone explain to me, if i buy these... http://www.body-kit.co.uk/product.php/14596/2698/vw-golf-5-03-09-black-inner-dome-projector-headlights

Would i also need a HID kit to be fitted too? Or would i just be able to buy the H7 bulbs that fit into the headlight units?

Cheers guys,

Joe

Go for a hid kit from hids direct for around 40quid.  Works well with the depos

Surely there won't be any difference in light output if you just use standard bulbs in the projector headlights?

How close does a hid kit with these lights compare to oem xenons?

Got the repo headlights with hid kit. Beam pattern takes a little setting up but there pretty good with a hid kit in.
Shark Performance Stage 1, itg intake, 3"downpipe decat,  miltek cat back,
Rcd 310.

Im leaving it standard..... Honest

Ah. Price might have come down a bit. £240 was cheapest I could get for members when I did the group buy. Its normal Depo xenon look lights. They are made by Depo. Not any subsidiary as per the pics. If thats the case Im willing to take close offers on my lights.  :happy2:

Projector lights with a standard h7 doesn't have the best output,  you might as well just stick to standard halogen reflector headlights then.  Trust me with  a h7 hid kit it will look much better with better light output
