Parts
« on: July 02, 2015, 06:14:31 pm »
Hi all, Gonna be ordering the parts tomorrow so I can put my engine back together.

Here's a list of what I need and where I'm thinking of getting it from. I'm just open to suggestions as other people might no another place that does a better quality part or where it's cheaper?

Continental Cambelt kit - £75 from a friends work
Continental aux belt - £11 from friends work
Water pump - TPS (genuine)
3pc LUK clutch kit - £180 from a company on eBay
Head bolts and head gasket kit - £60 brand called elring from car parts 4 less
Shell helix ultra 5w40 oil 5ltr - £24.99 car parts 4 less
Oil filter genuine - Lancaster VW parts £8
G13 coolant genuine - Lancaster VW parts £7.79 per litre
Engine mount bolts - roughly £10 from TPS

Thermostat ? Genuine? eBay? GSF?

Can't think of the top of my head of there's anything else I need.

What mileage are you on? It might worth changing the dmf as well whilst the gearbox is off and definitely stick with a genuine thermostat, pattern ones never reach the right operating temperature in my experience.

It's around 95k that's why I'm sticking a clutch in because there's nothing for q clutch in the history. Flywheel wasn't making any noise at all and clutch felt fine before engine went. Trying to keep the cost down lol
