Removing the REVO re-map

Has anyone here had there Revo re-map removed? Did it affect the mpg afterwards?

eh remove it? are you mad!! no i wouldnt expect to see gains i actually improved my economy for commuting when putting the software on mine. all depends how you drive it though i guess, if you take it off you will drive it harder to get anywhere and will use a lot more fuel.

mapping mine made it better in normal driving but worse in enthusiastic driving.

Yeah, i must be MAD!
I drive like Miss Daisy and im only getting around 28 MPG? Also, for every day driving the car just wants to be away as soon as you tap the accelerator. Anyone got one of those switchable units from revo?

I just did 412 miles to a tank on mine.. K04 I know, but with SPS you can have the car run really nicely, trim out lots of fuel (which improved performance) and fuel economy..

OEM maps have to be pretty rich to keep the cats cool, which is stupid, throw more fuel through the motor to keep something which is supposed to decrease emissions, make the car greener etc intact..

Just use a sps switch and turn the map to revo's version of stock.

Remove the battery and it reverts to stock. I've just spent 6 days driving standard and mpg is exactly the same but it is a totally different  car. I've been considering selling it but went back to votex to set it back to 6,6,9 and I cannot believe how fast and how sharp it is. The throttle response and instand power has blown me away all over again. What a car!!! All you guys running stock, you are seriously missing out on what an amazing car the gti can be!!!

Ive been to see my local Revo dealer to see if he'd switch it off for me for just a few weeks until the snow and ice clears and guess what......NO REVO software found !!!

It's certainly been remapped tho.

So when i got home i rang about to find out if anyone has my car on their system....First phone call was to CUSTOM CODE HQ and guess what.....Thats where my car had its remap installed!

Does that not just reset the settings etc.... im looking to go back to teh original factory map which i take it only vw can supply?
If i were to take it back to them do i just say i want an ecu update? also does an ecu update come part of a service as im due soon

no but it puts it in stock mode which means it drives exactly like standard!
