Brakes again!!
« on: July 13, 2015, 08:44:13 pm »
Using the search bar has made this more confusing so quite simply I'm asking for a couple of quick replys!

Looking to keep the standard brakes due to the car being the Mrs taxi but when I get in looking for a little bit more stopping power!

What discs and pads would you recommend for a standard ed30? I like grooved discs but is there any real benefits?

Also where would you buy them from?

Thanks chaps!

Dan

You should seriously consider 345mm front brake upgrades, in the form of R32/S3 front brakes. If you look for some from a Seat Leon Cupra R you can keep them red like the stock ones. They provide much better stopping power and even normal OE replacement pads and discs will be just as good, if not better, than expensive 312mm discs and pads.

A good 345mm kit is about £300-500 depending on condition, where as expensive discs and pads for the stock set up is nearly just as much! Oh, and the 345mm works with 17" OE alloys and even the space saver spare wheel so no issues with using this as a BBK! :happy2:
