on an 18 inch wheel you want 225/40/18  that s if the rims are 7-8.5 "wide  , you dont want 35 profile on 18 "

The width is 7.5. Do you think a 215/40/18 would be ok on this. I want a slightly stretched look but I obviously want them to be safe!
Cheers

That tyre size probably wont even look stretched on a 7.5" rim, the 225 f1s overlap a fair bit giving a decent amount of rim protection on a 7.5" rim. I certainly cant see any safety issues running 10mm less width  :happy2:

Typically a +/- 10 mm is the absolute maximum difference you should have...

Got the wheels today!  :xmaspresent: :pomppomp:
Just spent the last couple of hours cleaning them! Put three coats of rim wax on the lip, face, behind the face, the barrel and the rear lip!!  :rolleye:
Really please with the results! Its nice to know there is not a spec of dirt on them and they are protected for the winter! :jumping:
Also changed the centre caps as I'm not a fan of having a different manufactures badges on cars!
Will hopefully be getting tyres on tomorrow if I can decide which ones to go for! :signLOL:
Here are the pics! (off my iPhone  :sad1::jumping: :pomppomp:

Does anyone know the hub measurement of the golf and these audi wheels? Will they be the same? Also will the normal bolts be ok to use? Cheers :happy2:

By hub what do you mean?

The PCD (pitch Circle Diameter) should be 5x112.  The VW hub center bore diameter is 57.1mm. (where the wheels sit on the hub.)

Yeah i meant the hub centre bore diameter.  :ashamed: Do you know if these audi wheels are the same? I was told they should be. Would it be easier to go and try one on?
Cheers Dave  :happy2:

Pretty sure it will be the same.  I have some S3 hubs in the garage and they are the same as my Ed30 hubs.

Get the pics up sharpish too!
