burning oil
« on: August 09, 2015, 01:25:24 am »
Hi guys. I have a 2005 golf gti candy white which when I bought it I could smell burning oil smell through the vents and the  the oil light come on every week or 2 depending on how much I drove it obviously. Stupid thing I done was take it to vw dealership in Coventry as my mate works in parts so can get cheap parts. Anyway they said that the head was leaking at the back of the engine and also my turbo was nakerd they showed me video of the play it had which don't understand as it pulled like a train. So they done the head and the turbo, but it's still the same it's blowing abut of blue smoke from second gear every now and then and vw put 10w40 in my car which I think is to thick anyway. Any ideas what could be?? As I have spent a lot of money and it's getting to me now. Thanks guys apreciate it

The blue smoke is definitely burned oil,of which could be a number of things but my money would be the turbo.Take the car back to the dealers

Take it back asap. They haven't fixed it, do not try and sort it yourself. You'll jeopardise their obligation to you. You've paid for a repair that hasn't been successful.

Gone but not forgotten :-)

Good advice from both, you've no doubt spent a fair amount of cash lately to sort, return with as less miles as you can, good luck pal. :happy2:
