05 GTi - Graphite Blue
« on: December 22, 2008, 09:49:35 am »
As modifications are starting to gather, i thought i'd start a build thread. Nothing has actually been done to the car as yet apart from Parrot bluetooth and full magnex but suspension, wheels and new (private) plates are on their way in the coming few weeks.

here is my TT

which i sold to make way for...

full leather  :)

mmm, clean

2005 GTi 2.0T - graphite blue

Spec list-
-Full leather heated seats + arm rest
-duel climate control + aircon
-10 speaker system factory upgrade + 6disc in-dash changer
-Glove box fridge cooler and arm rest
-Cruise control
-Snooper installed
-Parrot bluetooth
-MAGNEX exhaust system full stainless steel

currently trying decide between 17's or 18's. would love to have some 17's and subtle drop but not sure if that'll work  :chicken:

IMO If you go 17's then you would need to slam it to pull it off..

not going for tuck though jonnyc, i'll be going for just the right amount of poke for me. 17's and slammed would mean either air or scraping, and i want neither of those things

no no no, not high. just not uber low and tucked.
arch sitting about 5mm above the tyre with some subtle poke. won't be to erevyone's taste, but what is.
not going for RS's, wish i could afford em  but the wheels i'm hopefully collecting next week will be a first on a mk5 i'm told...

you see, this is my problem. my car is on the 17" monza's, but the arches are only 20mm MAX distance from to the top of the tyre. I've only had the car just over a week but i'm told its on original suspension...? -30mm would be scraping to high hell if i'm on standard GTi springs now. this is why i'm unsure what to do.

I doubt very much that its on standard springs if its that low..

Cant see from the pics that you have posted up..

Just go with a set of coilovers then you can have it exactly as you like  :happy2:
